Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Storage Roehampton for the financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in our business operations and supply chains.
Our Organisation
Storage Roehampton provides storage solutions and related services to a wide range of customers. We recognise that modern slavery is a global issue that can affect every sector and region. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or our supply chains.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Storage Roehampton has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor or partner that is involved in, supports, or turns a blind eye to any form of modern slavery. This commitment is reflected in our internal policies, supplier expectations and day-to-day decision making.
All colleagues, including temporary and contract workers, are expected to act in accordance with this policy and to uphold our values of respect, fairness and integrity. Any breach, or suspected breach, of our modern slavery policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action or termination of contracts or business relationships.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include providers of storage equipment, building and maintenance contractors, security services, cleaning services, technology solutions and other professional and support services. We recognise that some of these sectors may present a higher risk of labour exploitation and we are focused on applying enhanced due diligence where appropriate.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains. This includes assessing new suppliers on their labour practices, working conditions, and compliance with relevant employment and human rights legislation.
Where we identify higher risk suppliers or sectors, we reserve the right to conduct audits and request evidence of compliance with labour standards, such as employment contracts, right-to-work checks, and health and safety documentation. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with audits and to remediate any issues identified within agreed timeframes.
We aim to incorporate modern slavery clauses into our key supplier agreements, requiring suppliers to prevent modern slavery in their operations and to flow down equivalent obligations to their own supply chains.
Training and Awareness
Relevant team members involved in procurement, facilities, operations and human resources are provided with information and guidance on recognising signs of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. We are working to build awareness across our organisation so that colleagues understand the risks and know how to raise issues responsibly and effectively.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Storage Roehampton encourages all colleagues, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting lines or directly to senior management.
We are committed to ensuring that anyone who raises a concern in good faith will not suffer any form of retaliation or detriment. Reports will be treated sensitively and, where appropriate, investigated promptly and thoroughly. If we identify modern slavery or a serious risk of it, we will take immediate steps to protect affected individuals and to address the root cause, which may include terminating relationships with responsible parties.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Storage Roehampton is committed to regularly reviewing and improving our approach as legislation, industry standards and best practice evolve.
This statement and the effectiveness of our measures will be reviewed at least annually by the senior leadership of Storage Roehampton. The review will consider changes in our business and supply chains, any incidents or concerns raised, outcomes of supplier assessments or audits, and opportunities to strengthen our policies, training and due diligence processes.
By publishing this statement, Storage Roehampton reaffirms its commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and to working collaboratively with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders to uphold human rights and dignity.
